Hi everyone!
No matter what I try, my SenSei output window stays black.
It works fine with EboSuite.
Mac OS Sonoma, Ableton 12.3.
I’d appreciate any tutorials.
Cheers, MidiBro

Hi MidiBro:)
Sorry to hear you’re having difficulties using SenSei!
Does it stay black if you open the SenSei demo set?
If you follow the basic tutorial:
https://www.ebosuite.com/senseisupport/#tutorials
Do you see anything then?
cheers,
nesa
Hi Nesa,
Yes, I was familiar with that tutorial.
It’s very brief and extremely fast.
But I kept pressing the stop button and (hopefully) did it exactly like in the video.
But with the result described: a black window.
Best regards,
Markus
Hi Markus,
sorry to hear! How about the demo set for SenSei, the one that comes in the installer zip file?
Could you also please tell us more about your hardware configuration, and if it’s intel then also the GPU model.
Kind regards,
nesa
Hi Nesa,
Thanks for the feedback.
I’m also getting a black screen with the demo project.
I’m using a 2023 Mac mini with an Apple M2 Pro chip and macOS 14.7.7.
As I said, it works fine with EboSuite, including the demo project associated with it.
Best regards,
Markus.
Hello again! ![]()
After some additional testing, I believe I’ve found the solution:
I need to start the “SenSei” application first (/Applications/EboStudio/SenSei),
and then launch Ableton Live afterwards.
Best regards,
Markus.
Hello Markus,
Thanks for the feedback and glad you found a workaround!
Sorry I didn’t realize on time, but this sounds like an issue we had with an early release that should be fixed in the later update.
If that is the case, launching sensei app first would be needed only first time until the authorization finishes.
So I’m curious, does it work now when you open demo set right away, or you always have to start the app first?
Thank you for the info!
nesa
Hi Nesa,
I always have to start the app first.
Now that I can use it…
Really great software! ![]()
It’s really fun to tinker with! ![]()
