How do I do simple layering in Ebosuite? I want a text graphic (jpeg) to float over an isf background. It sort of works with Blend, but not great. Mask sounds like what I should be using, but I can’t quite figure it out. eText seems to only allow basic single color text.

You need to save the file as a PNG so it retains alpha data. I use adobe illustrator, or photoshop to export type with a blank alpha background.
You could use a color key plug-in (like eFX-Chroma or eFX-ISF (with a key shader)) to make the white background transparent. It is difficult to make a detailed mask in EboSuite so that would not work. But in this case keying should work well. You can also use images with alpha, so the background is already transparent.
